URS
Ureteroscopy, also referred to as ureterorenoscopy or URS, is a medical procedure that involves the insertion of a small and flexible scope called a uteroscope through the urethra into the bladder and ureter. Its purpose is to diagnose and treat various urinary tract issues, including the presence of stones. The stone can be extracted without the need for surgical incisions. Typically, this procedure is performed with the patient under general anesthesia, ensuring they are asleep and comfortable. During the procedure, a ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra and bladder, reaching either the ureter or kidney, which are responsible for transporting urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
