For the purpose of ensuring proper and systematic training, Woodlands Hospital commissioned the Woodlands College of Nursing in the year 1995.

The College of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and West Bengal Nursing Council and is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

Laboratories
The nursing laboratories provide facilities for B.Sc. students to learn and practice basic skills and more advanced nursing interventions on simulated mannequins. This will improve their practical skill and confidence so that students can provide care in an effective way.


COURSES

Name of the course : Bachelor of Science(Nursing)
Number of seats : 50
Duration of the course : 4 years
Age and Sex : Only female completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st January of the year of admission.
Eligibility : The students have to clear the entrance WB-JENPAUH now known as JENPAS-UG conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(WBJEEB) on behalf of the Central Selection Committee (Nursing). It is a state level entrance organized every year.
Education : The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of class XII with 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (40% for SC, ST, OBC- A & B, PWD candidates).
Medical Fitness : Candidates should be medically fit.
Vacation: 6 weeks vacations shall be given in each year as per the guidelines of the INC and WBUHS.
Clinical Experience : The students are provided with opportunities for gaining experience through supervised clinical practice in Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital Limited which is the Parent Hospital as well as other Affiliated Hospitals.
Examination : University Examination will be conducted as per the syllabus provided by Indian Nursing Council.
Registration : The students who are declared successful in the final examination are eligible for registration as Registered Nurse(RN) with the West Bengal Nursing Council.
Attendance : 80% Theory and 100% Clinical attendance is required for every students to appear in University Examination.


TERMS & CONDITION FOR ONLINE PAYMENTS

• Payment(s) through this Service may only be made with a Credit Card, Debit card or Net Banking using services provided by payment gateway service provider.


• Before using this Service, it is recommended that the payee shall make necessary enquiry about the charges or fees payable against the Credit/Debit card used from Credit Card or the Debit Card service provider i.e. the respective Bank and/or payment gateway.


• The credit card information supplied at the time of using the service is processed by the payment gateway of the service provider, and is not supplied to WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING. It is the sole responsibility of the payee to ensure that the information entered in the relevant fields in system are accurate and correct. It is recommended that payee take and retain a copy of the transaction for record keeping purposes, which might assist in resolution of any disputes that may arise out or usage of the online payment service.


• The payee agrees, understands and confirms that his/ her personal data including but not limited to the details related to debit card/ credit card/net banking transmitted over the Internet may be susceptible to misuse, hacking, theft and/ or fraud and that WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING or the Payment Gateway Service Provider(s) have no control over such matters.

• The payee agrees that WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING or any of its employees shall not be held liable by the Payee for any loss or damages arising from your use of, or reliance upon the information contained on the Website, or any failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions where such failure is due to circumstance beyond WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s reasonable control.

Debit/Credit Card, Bank Account Details:

• The payee is responsible to ensure that the card/ bank account details provided by him/ her are accurate and current


• The payee authorizes debit of the nominated card/ bank account for the Payment of fees selected by such payee along with the applicable Fees.

No warranty :

No warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, is given by the WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING in respect of the operation of the service.


Disclaimer and Limitation of liability :

WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING does not accept liability for any damage, loss, cost including but not limited to legal costs, expenses, indirect losses or consequential damage of any kind which may be suffered or incurred by the payee from the use of this online payment service.


Governing law :

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India and the competent courts at Kolkata shall have exclusive jurisdiction.


Dispute Resolution :

Any dispute arising in relation to the terms and conditions shall be submitted to a sole arbitrator appointed by WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING under the provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and rules framed there under. The venue of Arbitration shall be at Kolkata.


Refund/Cancellation Policy :

Any charges deducted by payment gateway i.e. PAYTM will not be refunded under any circumstances. The refund of any fee excluding the payment gateway charges would be on the discretion of WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING management.


Technical issues :

In case of any technical issue due to which the payment gets deducted from the payee’s account and does not show in WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s ERP but the payment gateway service clearly mentions the confirmed settlement thereafter the WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s account receives the payment. WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING will manually submit the payment in WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s ERP. It may take 7-10 working days for the payment to be credited in WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s bank account.


Multiple Payments Case :

If double payment happens and the payment gateway service clearly mentions it, the WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING will refund the payment after the WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING’s account receives that particular payment. Which may take 7-10 working days for the back payment.


Other Payments Case :

In all other cases where there is a discrepancy in the fee paid, the payee shall directly contact the WOODLANDS COLLEGE OF NURSING and the management’s decision shall be final and binding.

• Diploma in Cath-Lab Technician: DCLT: 2 years + 6 months (Six Months) compulsory post examination training
• Diploma in Dialysis Technique: Dialysis Technician: 2 years + 6 months (Six Months) compulsory post examination training
• Diploma in Critical Care Technology: DCCT: 2 years + 6 months (Six Months) compulsory post examination training
• Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology: DOTT: 2 years + 6 months (Six Months) compulsory post examination training

Woodlands hospital handles hundreds of Out-patients and In-patients cases on daily basis offer. The students will have an excellent practical as well as theoretical exposure to most modern medical technologies and thehandling which will enable them to understand the operations and techniques involved. The hospital is associatedwith hundreds of doctors which will provide the students for a great exposure. The students will get hands on training and will always have scopes to attend workshop, training sessions and CMEs.The hospital is always committed to provide a safe and culturally diverse environment for the holistic growth of the students.


ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATION

As per State Medical Faculty of West Bengal (SMFWB) guidelines.

• That he/she has to pass the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination of any Indian University or duly constituted Board, with pass mark in Physics,Chemistry and Biology.
• That he/she has attained the age of 17 years on 1st September of the respective year of his /her admission into the course in an approved institution.
• That he /she has furnished a certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner and two references from persons other than relatives testifying to satisfactory general character.

DURATION

Two years course followed by six months (600/hours) compulsory 6 months Post Examination Internshipafter passing Final Examination based on SMFWB guidelines.


PLACEMENT AT WOODLANDS MULTISPECIALITY HOSPITAL

Placement will be purely on merit and whenever vacancy arises.


INTERSHIP PERIOD AND STIPEND

• Duration is of 6 months after the declaration of Final Examination results on date specified by the SMFWB guidelines.
• Woodlands will pay a monthly stipend of Rs 2500/-(Two Thousand Five HundredOnly) per student per month during the post examination compulsory internship for a duration of six months.

HOSTEL FACILITY

Hostel facility is not available for paramedical students


LIBRARY FACILITY

Yes,modern library with internet facility is present.Hard copies of books in different paramedical stream along with digital books are available.


FEE STRUCTURE

As per annexure given below

Rs15000/- per year for two years as course fee or as stipulated any SMFWB. In addition to the above Rs4000/- per year for laboratory /practical & session fees will be collected at Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital Ltd Kolkata.

The examination fees and registration fee collected as per the standard fixed by the SMFWB is collected and submitted to SMFWB.
