Dr Roychowdhury completed MCh in Paediatric Surgery from IPGME&R/SSKM Hospital. He has undergone training in laparoscopic paediatric surgery & routine paediatric operations during his stay at IPGME&R/SSKM Hospital.

Clinical Expertise / Interests

Dr Roychowdhury is adept in performing a wide range of surgical procedures both OPEN and LAPAROSCOPIC including congenital hernia, hydrocele, colostomy and definitive surgical corrective procedures in ARM(Ano Rectal Malformation), CHPS, Circumcision etc. He has to himself the credit of performing special cases like Diaphragmatic Hernias, TOF, Malrotation of Gut, Exomphalos Major, Myelomeningocele, Choledocal Cyst, VP Shunt, Surgical correction in NEC etc. Dr Roy Chowdhury performs Paeditric Urosurgical procedures including Urethroplasty for Hypospadias, Ureteric Reimplantation, Repair of Bladder exstrophy, Pyeloplasty , Cystoscopy to name a few. He is specially skilled in Emergency Surgeries(exploratory Laparotomy) in conditions like Intussusception, Blunt Abdominal Trauma, Penetrating abdominal injuries, emergency surgical interventions arising out of Accidents.

Dr Roychowdhury has several publications in various national journals. He is actively involved in CMEs and other academic sessions.
