Degrees / Training

Dr. Biswas completed his MS, DNB, MCh (Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery) from Calcutta University. He was awarded FRCS from Edinburgh, UK. He was trained in adult cardiac surgeries and cardiac transplantations at Cleveland Clinic, US. His earlier assignments have been Vice Chancellor of WBUHS, Vice President of The National Board of Examinations (DNB), President of Indian Association of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons & HOD - CTVS of R G Kar Medical College. He was also attached with premium tertiary care hospitals in Eastern India.

Clinical Expertise / Interests

Dr. Biswas WITH AN EXPERIENCE OF 4 DECADES has been masterly performing a wide range of Thoracic, Vascular & cardiac surgeries both in adult & children. He has performed successfully a large number of cases including General Thoracic Surgery, VATS, Thoracic Endoscopies, Vascular Surgeries, CABG, Heart Valve Surgeries & Congenital Heart Surgeries etc.

Academic Experience

Having keen interest in research and publication, has contributed more than 200 papers in various scientific journals. He is currently the Editor of Asian Annals of Cardio Thoracic Surgery. Dr Biswas also has a teaching experience of more than 30 years & worked as examiner in MCh, DNB, Ph.D etc. He added various awards to his crown over the years.
